Jakarta is the capital of the Republic of Indonesia. It is a large sprawling metropolis, home to more than 10 million people from different ethnic groups in Indonesia. During the day many people from outside Jakarta come to work in the city and in the evening they leave again.
Located in the northwest of the island of Java, DKI Jakarta province has grown rapidly in recent years and swallowed up many villages in the process. In fact, Jakarta consists of many villages called kampung, which are connected by main roads and super highways.
